Before launching a new patch update, Free Fire has to launch all events designed for current version. After launching all events, Free Fire’s developers introduce with a new patch update. So let’s checkout the schedule of upcoming events designed for OB47 update. Free Fire has planned to launch total 5 events in this patch update, where few events are already started in game:
1. Regional Events [ Pushpa for Southeast Asian servers and Matuê for Brazil server]

→ 16 – 30 December 2024
3. New Year 2025
→ 1 – 10 January 2025
4. Free Fire x Naruto Shippuden

After observing the event schedule, it is clear that the OB48 patch update will arrive in the month of February 2025.
Free Fire OB48 Patch Update Official Release Date
From the day of a new patch update, A new weapon royale event starts in game. It means, next patch update will come on the day when current weapon royale event will end. After observing current weapon royale’s duration, it is confirmed that Free Fire’s OB48 patch update will arrive in game on 25 February 2025.
Process and Update Timeline for OB48
OB48 of Free Fire will be ready to launch by Tuesday, February 12, 2025. For a smooth and trouble-free gaming experience, players are requested to update their game from app store. The update will arrive in three phases:
1. Pre-Update Period
This is preparation period, estimated to take about 1h30m (From 07:30 AM → 09:00 AM, February 25th, 2025). During this period, players will be able to play the game normally with the OB47 version. However, starting from 09:00, you won’t be able to queue up for rank modes in OB47.
2. New Patch Publishing Period
From 09:00 AM players will be able to update the game from app store. From 09:00 AM → 09:30 AM, February 25th, 2025 players can’t login to game as server will not stay online. But from 09:30 AM players can login to game and can enjoy new contents. In this period the OB47 version will stay online, players who will not update the game can easily play in OB47 version. However, players who have logged in to OB48 they can’t login to OB47 version and also can’t play together with the players who are in OB47.
3. Obligatory Update Period
The OB47 version will stay online till December 6, 2025. In this period players will be forcefully redirected to app store to update their game while players will try to login in OB47 version. Players will not be able to login to the game in this period in the OB47 version.
