Garena is preparing a major quality-of-life improvement for EVO Gun collectors in Garena Free Fire. Starting January 2026, the EVO Vault event will introduce a new compensation system designed to eliminate the long-standing frustration of receiving duplicate EVO Guns.
This upcoming update will significantly change how duplicate EVO Gun rewards are handled, making the EVO Vault event more rewarding and player-friendly than ever before.
EVO Vault Duplicate Issue: What Happens Right Now
Under the current EVO Vault system, there is no safeguard to prevent players from obtaining an EVO Gun they already own. Even after spending diamonds on premium spins, players may still receive duplicate EVO Guns from the vault.
When this happens, the system compensates the player with 100 EVO Gun Tokens tied only to that specific weapon. These tokens are limited in scope and can only be used for upgrading the same EVO Gun, offering no option to progress toward unlocking a different EVO Gun. As a result, many players feel that duplicate pulls significantly reduce the overall value of the event.
New EVO Vault System From January 2026
Garena has confirmed that this system will change with the next EVO Vault rotation starting 2 January 2026. The updated mechanism introduces EVO Gun Exchange Tokens, replacing the older gun-specific compensation model.
Under the new system, if a player pulls an EVO Gun they already own from the EVO Vault, they will receive Exchange Tokens instead of 100 same-gun EVO tokens. These Exchange Tokens can be used directly in the Exchange Tab to redeem an EVO Gun that the player does not currently own.
This ensures that every EVO Vault reward contributes toward meaningful progression, even in the case of duplicates.

Why EVO Gun Exchange Tokens Are a Big Upgrade
This update addresses one of the most criticized aspects of the EVO Vault system and aligns premium events with player expectations. Instead of locking compensation behind limited upgrades, Garena is giving players freedom of choice.

Main advantages of the new system include:
- Duplicate EVO Guns no longer feel wasted
- Players gain control over which EVO Gun to unlock next
- Diamond investment in EVO Vault becomes safer and more rewarding
- Impact on Free Fire Players and Collectors
For long-term players who already own multiple EVO Guns, this update is especially impactful. The risk of pulling duplicates has always been a major concern in premium events, and the introduction of Exchange Tokens effectively removes that risk.
This move also encourages continued participation in EVO Vault rotations, as players can now spin with confidence, knowing that duplicate rewards will still push them closer to a new EVO Gun unlock.
The January 2026 EVO Vault update represents a major step forward in refining Free Fire’s premium reward ecosystem. By replacing limited gun-specific tokens with flexible EVO Gun Exchange Tokens, Garena is clearly responding to community feedback and improving event fairness.
While final token requirements and availability may vary by server, this change has the potential to redefine how players engage with EVO Vault events going forward.
Garena retains full authority to modify or adjust event mechanics, and players are advised to follow official announcements for final confirmation.
